Sears in the coming days regarding the horse’s post-race recovery. Mr Sears later reported that the horse underwent a corrective throat procedure following this run.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the gelding rdr stated his mount was obliged to race three wide, without cover, throughout the event after it was slow to begin and failed to muster early speed. Rdr stated his mount was under pressure from the 600m and was very disappointing in its run to the line. Rdr added his mounts best form has been on softer track conditions than that today and he did not believe it appreciated the track conditions. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality.
