Phoenix Shadow Improved onto the heels of FAST THINKER and had to be restrained passing the 800m and, as a result, shifted wider on the track. Ipswich 17/05/2020
Come In Spinner When asked to comment on the tactics adopted, jockey S. Cormack advised that he rode the gelding as per his instructions, which were to be in a forward position and lead if possible, which is consistent with its usual racing pattern. He added that having ridden the gelding at its most recent starts, and being advised by the trainer that the gelding resents being restrained once in a comfortable rhythm, he was satisfied to allow the gelding to race in that pattern and eventually crossed DOMINICA ROSE passing the 900m. Populist Apprentice C. Bayliss was asked to comment on the tactics adopted which resulted in his mount leading, which is not the horse’s established racing pattern. He stated that it had not been his intention to lead and he had anticipated QUALITY SEEKER taking up the lead, which would have afforded him cover. However, in the early stages QUALITY SEEKER steadied and took up a position trailing his mount. He attempted to restrain his mount in the early stages, however the horse overraced and when unable to be restrained was permitted to stride forward and assume the lead on the fence after passing the Sunshine Coast 15/05/2020
Brocson Due to the slow pace being set in the early stages, the horse overraced and as a result shifted wider near the 1000m to improve in an attempt to obtain the lead, however, was unable to do so and was obliged to race three wide for the remainder. Sunshine Coast 15/05/2020

Jadentom Trainer L. Hatch advised that it would be the intention for the mare to settle in a midfield position today if circumstances permit. The mare subsequently raced in a handy position off the speed. Toowoomba 10/05/2020

Esse Rider C. Taylor reported that the gelding resented the kickback in the early and middle stages. When questioned, jockey Taylor advised that he elected to shift wider on the track passing the 300m as in his opinion the surface was better in that section. Trainer J. The Power Of One Raced keenly in the early stages. When asked to comment on the tactics adopted, apprentice S. Tomlinson advised that he had been instructed to go forward today, as the colt had led and performed well in a recent jump out. He added that at the colt’s first start it was the intention for it to race in a forward position, however after being slow away it settled further back in the field than anticipated. Shuda Known Better After beginning from a wide barrier, the mare was unable to obtain cover and was ridden forward in the early stages, but after passing the 1400m commenced to overrace and was then allowed to stride forward to obtain the position outside the leader passing the 1100m. Tricky Mix Apprentice B. Nothdurft reported that it was his intention to race in a handy position but after finding the lead without pressure the mare raced keenly when pressure was applied by SHUDA KNOWN BETTER and INCHING CLOSER and, as a result, TRICKY MIX refused to settle. Apprentice Nothdurft added that, in his opinion, this may have had a bearing on the mare’s finishing effort over the final stages. Toowoomba 10/05/2020
Princess Sparkles When questioned by Stewards in relation to the seemingly disappointing performance, jockey B. Thornton advised his mount travelled well throughout, but when asked to quicken it failed to respond to his riding, raced flat and, in his opinion, proved disappointing today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be exhibiting an abnormal lower respiratory noise. Trainer M. Wilson undertook to report back to Stewards in relation to the horse’s post-race recovery. Toowoomba 14/03/2020
Forza Raced in restricted room approaching the 300m, and had to be eased between MISTER WARD and SPICERS PEAK which laid in. Jockey M.
