Began awkwardly. Steadied from heels approaching the 100m and shifted out abruptly. When questioned by Stewards in relation to the seemingly disappointing performance, trainer P. Butterworth advised that he was at a loss to explain the performance today. He added that in light of the performance, he will arrange for the horse to be examined by a veterinary surgeon upon returning to the stables, the results of which he will report to Stewards. He went on to say that he will also give consideration to sending the horse for a spell.

He added that prior to this, the geldings form, in his opinion, was strong and therefore after returning from a spell, the stable was expecting a forward showing in today’s event. Stewards noted the explanation.
