When asked to comment on tactics adopted when leading the main body of the field by a significant margin in the middle stages of the event, rider J Orman stated he rode ICED with some vigour from the barriers and the gelding raced keenly and proved difficult to settle, adding approaching the first turn near the 800 metres he attempted to steady the pace however ICED continue to race keenly. J Orman further stated he was of the opinion despite the horse travelling strongly, it was not an overly excessive pace, and in his opinion this was had no detrimental effect on the overall finishing effor
