A post-race examination of the filly revealed a minor laceration to the off hind pastern. Stewards questioned trainer D Reynolds in relation to the seemingly improved performance of the filly. Mr Reynolds advised that the stable had always had an opinion of the filly and as such had placed the filly in stronger races than that of today’s event in the early stages of its career. Mr Reynolds went on to say that in his opinion the significant drop in class for todays event combined with the step up in distance were the major contributing factors to the improved performance.

Byrne reported that he trotted the horse around at the barriers and it was examined by the veterinary surgeon who passed it fit to race, which jockey Byrne agreed with as the horse felt free in its action.
