Rider stated mount failed to travel comfortably at any stage of event & when other runners commenced to improve approaching the home-turn, mount was disappointing in the manner it responded & failed to quicken in the run to the line. Stated that the gelding displayed an abnormal respiratory noise throughout the event as well as during the preliminary & immediately following the event. Stable representative stated that the gelding had previously undergone an endoscopic examination revealing no abs. Rep opinion would be better suited stepping out in trip & on softer going. Post race vet no abs.

Stated after beginning only fairly, he elected to restrain his mount & obtain a position at rear of field as he was of the opinion his mount would be caught wide & without cover if he elected to ride forward. Further stated that his mount was inclined to hang out throughout the event & in his opinion did not appreciate the good racing surface. Stable rep confirmed the instructions & stated he was surprised the mare settled so far back. Rep stated the mare's best performances have been on soft. Post race vet no abs.

Passing 900 m was eased to avoid heels. Bombay Rocket then was restrained a short distance later when awkwardly placed on heels of Rainbiel which had reduced speed of the race slightly at this stage. Eased down by its rider over final 150 m. Rdr Lachlan Neindorf reported that filly was unable to maintain lead in early stages and once crossed and having to be eased when close to heels near 900m it failed to travel and was disappointing. A post-race vet exam no abs. Co-trainer Sam Freedman stated that filly performs best when able to lead outright in its races and therefore as it was unable.
