When asked to comment on the performance rider J Orman stated he had anticipated racing in a forward position, however after being slow to begin he was obliged to steady shortly after the start when placed in restricted room resulting in WINDSTREAM settling at the tail of the field. J Orman added the filly responded moderately in the early stages of the home straight when placed under pressure however was disappointed for a run near the 150 metres and was unable to be fully tested over the concluding stages. Rider G Cartwright (VIOLATION) was advised to provide greater clearance to her fellow riders in similar circumstances. Rider M Cahill could offer no tangible explanation to the gelding failing to respond to his riding in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to making an abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer K Fogden was advised that she must provide a veterinary clearance for the gelding together with the results of an endoscopic examination.
