Underwent a pre-race vet examination after an incident on the float en route to the track, was passed fit to start. Raced wide in the early stages and laid in rounding the home turn. When questioned regarding the performance, M. Potgieter reported that he was instructed to be positive on the horse and to obtain cover. After being trapped wide in the early stages, settled further forward than anticipated and when place under pressure in the home straight, weakened noticeably and ran to the line in a disappointing manner. A post-race vet exam revealed poor post-race recovery.

Shortly thereafter, was shifted back in but again became awkwardly placed on the heels of GLADISHING which shifted inwards in an attempt to improve.
