He advised that after leading and having pressure applied Our Addiction failed to run on over the concluding stages. He advised that the gelding races best when leading and in todays event he was not allowed to dictate the speed due to pressure being applied by Super-Fast. The explanation of G Kliese was noted. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no abnormalities.

Broke through the barriers after being loaded and was immediately restrained by Jockey A Layt who had been dislodged but able to maintain control of the gelding. Mango Tango Wine was inspected by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to start. Trainer M McGuire was advised that a warning was issued concerning the gelding’s barrier behaviour. Jumped out at the start hampering Enuff Gold. Commenced to overrace at the 1000 meters. Cast an off-fore plate in running.

Tightened for room on jumping. Approaching the 100 metres Mango Tango Wine which was being ridden with the whip shifted in and checked Paparazzi Rocket. Apprentice Ms I Teh (Mango Tango Wine) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that she allowed her mount to shift in when not clear of Paparazzi Rocket. Apprentice Jockey I Teh’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence 30 January 2023 and expire midnight 6 February 2023.

Harlow Queen had to be momentarily steadied at the 100 metres consequently.
