Young Amazon When quest re disapp perf. rdr stated from wide barrier mount had to work slightly harder than he would have liked to establish posn outside leader. Rdr stated mount travelled well for a furlong before it was under pressure at 600m. Rdr stated mount was very disapp to line. Nicquility When overracing had to be restrained from heels near 1000m. Vetted - found to be suffering from a poor race recovery and showing signs of mucus in its trachea. Gold Coast 16/12/2017
Alpha Centauri Apprentice J. Murphy explained at scale that his mount was inclined to lay in throughout and when placed under pressure in the home straight proved difficult to ride. He added that he had recommended to connections that the horse may benefit from the addition of winkers in future starts. Ipswich 22/12/2017

Davor On return to scale, jockey N. Tomizawa advised that he was told to ride the gelding in the second half of the field today as the horse has shown a tendency to overrace in its previous races. He added that the gelding travelled well within itself in the early and middle stages, however finished the race off in a manner which indicated to him that it would be better suited to races over 1800m to 2000m at this stage in its preparation. Capo Di Tutti Steadied shortly after the start. Apprentice R. Ride reported that her saddle shifted forward in the early stages, resulting in the horse proving difficult to settle, and for this reason she elected to shift wider on the track. Engraved Trainer B. Hill was questioned regarding the horse’s improved performance. He stated that he had worked the gelding with blinkers since its poor performance at the Sunshine Coast and he believed that this gear change may have attributed to the improved showing. Doomben 20/12/2017
