When quest re perf. rdr stated mount enjoyed comfortable run in handy position in early & middle stages however was unable to improve from 500m to the entrance to the straight when held up on heels. Rdr stated on obtaining clear running he felt mount was in a position to run leaders down however it sprinted only fairly & was unable to do so. P/R vet exam found no ab's. Rdr fined for returning to scale at 57.5kg, in excess of 1/2kg over mounts wgt of 56.5kg.

Rider questioned re being obliged to race 3 wide without cover throughout when beginning from barrier 4 - explained intention to settle in rearward position and was unable to obtain cover early stages as SONIC SWISH was overracing to inside and rather than restrain behind that runner he elected to remain 3 wide.
