The Irons Jumped the crossing at the 1400m. When questioned by Stewards regarding the improved performance, Trainer Mr. J. Gregory advised that, in his opinion, the gelding was not suited to the slow track conditions at its most recent start. He added that, in his opinion, whilst still being a maiden, this race was much weaker than the gelding’s most recent start, and for this reason he had expected a forward showing today. Hoovesgotcha Fractious in barriers and began awkwardly. A short distance after start eased when tightened for room. Near 1300m improved onto heels and steadied. Then overraced middle stages and approaching 900m shifted out and commenced to improve in a three wide position. Gold Coast 30/06/2018

Hotel Coste Began awk. Inclined to overrace in the early & middle stages. Approaching the 200m was eased when tightened for room between rnr's. Approaching the 100m was obliged to ease out around heels to continue to improve. Grafton 11/07/2018

Same Old Overraced for some distance after HIDDEN BUDGET crossed forward to the lead leaving the 1400m. When questioned as to the tactics adopted, jockey S. Doyle stated that the gelding previously settled at the rear of the field after being slow to begin. Jockey Doyle added that after the gelding began on terms he elected to ride forward to obtain a position in the lead before restraining to obtain cover behind HIDDEN BUDGET. Ipswich 11/07/2018
Halfeti Passing the 300m whilst commencing to weaken, was tightened for room between GOLD AMBITION and SON OF A BRUT, which laid in slightly. Trainer B. Baker reported that the tongue-tie on the horse became displaced during the race, which may have had some bearing on its performance. Sunshine Coast 15/07/2018

Heart of Kings Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had sustained a laceration to its off hind coronet band. Toowoomba 01/07/2018
Le Beau Renard Laid out rounding the home turn. Shifted out abruptly after passing the winning post resulting in Apprentice B. Nothdurft suffering a seemingly harmless fall. Stewards advised stable representative Mr. M. Currie that a warning will be placed on the gelding for its racing manners. Dalby 12/07/2018
Falvelino Began awkwardly. Rider questioned - expressed disappointment in performance and was of the view gelding was not adversely affected after breaking through barriers prior to start and noted inclined to hang out for majority. Added best suited when able to lead and dictate terms. Vetted - no significant findings. Gold Coast 30/06/2018

Cossie Had to be steadied from the heels of ARCHADE passing the 400m when that runner shifted ground. M. Du Plessis, the rider of ARCHADE, was reprimanded and advised to show greater care when shifting ground in future. Sunshine Coast 14/07/2018

Korma When quest re perf. rdr stated his mount settled back after being slow to begin & hampered shortly after. Rdr stated mount handled heavy track conditions however failed to travel strongly. Rdr stated when he asked mount to work into event from 700m it failed to respond strongly & just ground to line. Rdr stated mount was 1st up, on which its record is poor, with heavy weight. Rdr added gelds form & manner in which it raced today suggests it would appreciate a longer journey. Tnr stated geld very worked up before event, which is unusual. P/R vet exam no ab's.
