Bay Shot Trainer questioned re poor performance - of the opinion the gelding would be better suited over further distances, nonetheless undertook to place the gelding in an official trial prior to its next race. Gold Coast 22/09/2018

The Candy Man As jockey R. McMahon’s arrival on course was delayed, D. Griffin was substituted as the rider of the horse. When asked to comment on the performance of the horse, jockey Griffin indicated his mount raced quite greenly in the early and middle stages after he had been instructed to allow the horse to settle out of the barriers. He indicated that, in his opinion, the gelding finished the race off strongly despite laying in form the 400m onwards. He added that trainer Mr B. Baldwin suggested he would now look to spell the horse Sunshine Coast 08/05/2016

Trestrail When quest re perf. rdr stated from wide barrier mount was caught 3 wide, without cover, throughout the early & middle stages however travelled comfortably. Rdr stated when asked to improve from 600m mount responded only fairly before peaking on its run & weakening to the line. Rdr stated it was his mounts first attempt at the journey and in his opinion the manner in which it was obliged to race in the early and middle stages was to its detriment running the distance out. Happy Go Plucky Leaving 200m disappointed for a run between NORDIC SHOW and HIDDEN ROSE and obliged to shift back to inside of NORDIC SHOW to secure clear running. Raced three wide without cover throughout. Gold Coast 22/09/2018

Charlie Cat Reared as the start was effected and lost ground. When questioned as to the tactics adopted in the middle stages, apprentice L. Kilner stated that leaving the 600m she attempted to improve to the inside of ROUND MOUNTAIN but was unable to do so due to that runner shifting ground. As a consequence she was obliged to steady the gelding passing the 400m when placed in restricted room to the inside of ROUND MOUNTAIN. Stewards accepted the explanation. Beaudesert 01/10/2018

Muddy Rope Tightened for room at the start. Vetted, no abnormalities. Trainer disappointed with performance, could offer no explanation. Trainer advised days following the event, had pulled up well and would continue on with preparation. Ipswich 14/09/2018

Not Surprising Which lunged forward in the barriers, sustaining a laceration to its forehead, was examined by the veterinary surgeon and declared a late scratching at 2.26 pm on veterinary advice. Doomben 29/09/2018
