Kilner stated that leaving the 600m she attempted to improve to the inside of ROUND MOUNTAIN but was unable to do so due to that runner shifting ground. As a consequence she was obliged to steady the gelding passing the 400m when placed in restricted room to the inside of ROUND MOUNTAIN. Stewards accepted the explanation.

difficulty securing clear running rounding home turn. Rider re tactics - stated always intention to obtain a position with cover. Added last start from wide gate and no apparent early speed elected to push forward to obtain a position closer to the fence and led the race. Noted on that occasion gelding overraced when unable to obtain cover. If consideration given to maintaining handy position with cover to inside of THE WARDSMEN he stated he would have had to pressure the gelding in the early stages and given way it overraced previously was reluctant to do so.
