Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. When questioned, jockey McGillivray stated that the horse did not travel at any stage of the event. He indicated that he was obliged to niggle the horse in the middle stages and when under pressure in the home straight the horse laid in and felt awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer L. Birchley’s stable representative Mr M. Henderson was advised that in light of today’s performance and the comments of jockey McGillivray, the gelding would be required to trial prior to its next start.

Rdr stated it was his mounts first attempt at the journey and in his opinion the manner in which it was obliged to race in the early and middle stages was to its detriment running the distance out. P/R vet exam found no ab's.
