Held up for clear running in the straight and approaching the 200m shifted out when awkwardly placed on the heels of KAORU KING and in doing so made contact with CLASS OF ROYALTY.

When asked to comment on the performance jockey Fradd indicated he would have liked to have been positioned closer to the lead, however despite pressuring the horse in the early stages it did not muster any speed. He added the horse raced very greenly throughout the event. In his opinion, the horse was doing its best work over the concluding stages, would benefit with a step up in distance when able to settle in a more forwar

Stewards inquired into this incident and found that BROCKY was tightened for room when METALLURGIST laid in despite the efforts of its rider, and DEGAS shifted out despite the efforts of its rider after being steadied away from heels. Inconvenienced by another runner approaching the 300m.

Approaching the 600m when overracing had to be shifted away from the heels of JUST GIVEME RUBIES and in doing so made heavy contact with TRESTRAIL forcing that runner wider on the track.

McGillivray stated that it had not been his intention to necessarily race behind the lead, however from barrier one the horse began very well and raced keenly in the early stages. He attributed this to the trainer having removed the earmuffs from the horse’s gear.

Rider questioned re riding rounding home turn - stated leaving 500m reluctant to shift wider to follow Spirit Of Cherokee as he was concerned it was not going to take him into the race, given its racing manners during early and middle stages. Elected to follow Dramatic Moments into race and as a result held up on the heels of that runner in early stages of home straight. Added upon straightening positioned to inside of heels of Heza Good Boy and unable to avail himself for a run to outside of that runner without steadying and losing ground at that point. Explanation accepted.
