Thompson stated that it was his intention to lead or race handy. After beginning fairly, shortly thereafter was crossed by two runners and settled in a midfield rails position. The gelding which performed poorly and tired noticeably over the concluding stages, underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no apparent abnormalities.

Wishart advised that the mare travelled fairly during the early and middle stages, however it failed to run on as she had expected when placed under pressure. She added that, in her opinion, the mare may not have backed up from its run at Caloundra on Sunday 28 July 2019. A post-race veterinary examination of the mare revealed no apparent abnormalities.
