Hellyer reported the horse failed to travel at any stage of the event and, in his opinion, may have come to the end of its preparation. Trainer S. O’Dea agreed with jockey Hellyer’s comments and indicated the horse would now be sent for a spell. A post race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery.
