Shifted out abruptly when leading approaching the 400m despite the efforts of its rider and hung out rounding the home turn. Stable representative Mr R. Elliott was advised that the horse must compete in an official barrier trial prior to racing again. Mr Elliott indicated that consideration would be given to removing the blinkers for the gelding’s next race start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a superficial laceration over the off hind tendon.

Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped another runner. When questioned by Stewards in relation to the disappointing performance, jockey T. Marshall advised that from leaving the 600m when placed under pressure, the gelding failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing. He added that, in his opinion, the gelding did not handle the track surface today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from cardiac arrhythmia. Connections were advised that the horse will require a veterinary clearance, inc. the results of an ECG, and must barrier trial.
