A post-race veterinary examination of BRING ME SHOWERS failed to reveal any abnormalities. A post-race swab sample was taken from the mare. Trainer advised the mare pulled up satisfactorily and would be give a short freshen up before continuing with preparation. .

He indicated his mount was unable to muster early speed and during the middle stages he was obliged to place pressure on his horse and slap the whip down the its shoulder in order to remain in contact with the main body of the field. He further added the horse was doing its best work over the concluding stages and found the line strongly. He further added, in his opinion, the GOLD CHORUS would improve and take benefit from a step up in distance.
