Trainer B Smith was of the opinion DARKENED DESTINY may have resented the tongue-tie which was a gear change today, adding that he would notify Stewards of any condition which may come to light in the coming days. Mr Smith was advised DARKENED DESTINY must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.

After being bumped in the early stages by OMBRE VALANTE, commenced to race ungenerously and shifted inside the line of the running rail, and as a result, exiting the chute at the 1100m was forced to shift out making heavy contact with OMBRE VOLANTE. Consequently, MISHANI BANDIT commenced to race keenly and was obliged to check from heels for a considerable distance.

Trainer Shane Iverson when questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance of the mare stated that when Mori’s Press raced at Roma on 20 November 2022 it did not appreciate the racing surface. Mr Iverson also added that on that day the mare worked keenly to the barriers and subsequently he added pre-race muffs to its official gear in an attempt to improve its pre-race manners.
