When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, jockey stated that he had been instructed to lead the event. Jockey stated after beginning well and obtaining the lead, his mount was pressured by runners to its outside and failed to display sufficient speed, under riding, to prevent those runners from crossing. Jockey stated once his mount was crossed near the 500m, his mount dropped the bit and was disappointing in the run to the line as it failed to respond to his urgings to improve. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
