Slow to begin. Whilst weakening near the 100m was buffeted between runners, became awkward and lost ground. When questioned in relation to the poor performance Rider J. Oliver reported that the gelding was slow to begin and as a result he was obliged to ride aggressively to obtain a forward position and despite this travelled comfortably in the early and middle stages. He added that when placed under pressure the gelding proved disappointing in the home straight. Trainer B. Currie expressed disappointment in the geldings performance which in his opinion failed to handle the sand racing surface
