After viewing the patrol footage it was established that the barrier gate of SHADOW VISON failed to open in unison with the remainder of the field resulting in it losing ground. As stewards were satisfied the gelding was denied a fair start it was declared a non-runner under AR 204.

When questioned regarding ME MYSELF AND I racing three wide in the lead in today’s event. Apprentice D Graham stated that she was instructed to settle back but after jumping well from an outside barrier, elected take advantage of her early gate speed and race further forward. Apprentice Graham added that she attempted to try and find cover in the vicinity of the 1000m but the field compacted around her and as a result was trapped three wide. She added that even though she was unable to find cover ME MYSELF AND I was able to settle into stride and finish off well. Stewards noted her explanation
