When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, Rider stated after being slow to begin, she elected to take up a position at the back of the field rather than press forward where she would be caught wide. She added travelled well throughout but when placed under pressure at the early part of the straight, didn’t show the expected response and only went to the line fairly. She added that the quick back up from Tuesday might have been a factor.

Stewards opened an inquiry into jockey Rudd’s riding, particularly over the final 800m after CHEEKY CHOPS received interference. After taking initial evidence from jockey Rudd and Trainer R Little, the matter was adjourned to allow stewards to view the previous starts and also examine betting records of the race. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
