When questioned regarding the performance of STRAWBERRY BLONDE, jockey R Wiggins stated it was his intention to settle behind the lead in today’s event and after beginning well was able to take up a position behind DOOM in the early stages. However, he ended up settling further back after DOOM was restrained to allow REGAL REECE to cross. He further added his mount had a tendency to lay in throughout the event and on entering the home straight, elected to shift out around runners to improve intro clear running.
