Goldsbury could offer no tangible explanation for the seemingly disappointing performance today. A post-race veterinary examination of the horse revealed no significant findings.

Stewards asked jockey D. Evans to comment on the performance of the horse. He indicated that after beginning awkwardly and shifting out, his mount clipped heels and blundered, losing significant ground. He added that in the middle stages the horse raced greenly and he was obliged to place pressure on it in order to remain in touch with the main body of the field. He indicated the horse would take benefit from today’s race and would appreciate a step up in distance as it was was doing its best work over the final 200m.
