When qstd re her riding throughout the event, apprentice rider stated that she was instructed to lead the event but after beginning marginally slow her mount failed to muster sufficient speed and she attempted to gain cover. Rider added when she restrained her mount the gelding began to overrace and failed to respond to her actions and was caught very wide rounding the first turn and added that when tempo of the race slackened she elected allow her mount to stride forward but had to remain in wide position. Rider added after the tough run the gelding weakened. A post-race vet exam rev no abs
