When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, rider stated that his mount began well, however with the genuine tempo in the early and middle stages he was obliged to niggle his mount along to maintain his position. He further added that passing the 700m his mount was under pressure and subsequently proved disappointing in its failure to respond to his riding in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality.

Shifted in near the 1000m, placing another runner in restricted room. Rider was severely reprimanded and advised to be sure he was clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
