Questioned regarding riding over concluding stages, apprentice stated that her mount shifted in marginally when using the whip and when using her whip on the second occasion, TOY WHITTY shifted in abruptly and became awkwardly placed on the heels of GLOBAL VENTURE and to the outside of BEAUTIFUL CHELSEY who had improved to her inside. She added that at this stage a run had presented itself between GLOBAL VENTURE and the weakening JINABELLE, but as GLOBAL VENTURE and her mount were both inclined to lay in, she put the whip away and shifted to the outside to obtain clear running.

Apprentice R Wilson reported that her mount immediately resented the kickback, raced fiercely and had to be steadied off heels on a number of occasions. She added that when she directed SHE’S SMART to the outside to avoid the conditions near the 500m, her mount was able to settle and ran on fairly from that point on and was not overly disappointed with the effort.

A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
