Boom Raider Began awkwardly and lost ground. After being caught wide in the early stages was permitted to stride forward and take up a position outside the leader near the 1200m. Performed below market expectations, apprentice K Wilson-Taylor reported the filly to have made an abnormal respiratory noise during the event. A post-race veterinary examination identified a poor post-race recovery. Trainer T Button was notified that he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance with satisfactory results of an endoscopic examination prior to the horse racing or trialing again. Scorcha A post-race veterinary examination of SCORCHA which weakened noticeably in the straight revealed no abnormalities. Trainer T. Cook subsequently reported that SCORCHA to be lame in the near hind leg on return to his stable. He advised that SCORCHA would now be spelled and would report back on the future racing career of the mare. Trainer T. Taken By Theft Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Raced three wide without cover for majority of the event. When questioned regarding tactics adopted which resulted in his mount racing three wide from barrier 3, rider M Du Plessis indicated that prior to the event he anticipated being able to cross BETTER OFF and settle midfield, however after beginning awkwardly he recognized in the early stages he could not cross runners to the inside and attempted to restrain in order to settle behind BETTER OFF. He added it was at a point near the 1000 metres when TAKEN BY THEFT refused to settle Sunshine Coast 13/06/2021

Natural Emperor Hampered on jumping away. Had difficulty obtaining clear running on passing the 400m and had to shift out to improve into clear running Rockhampton 10/06/2021
Kiseki Man Obliged to steady from heels near the 700 metres. The licence of M Butler, rider of KISEKI MAN, was suspended to ride in races for a period of 21 days under AR132(5) for use of the whip on 26 occasions in totality which included 15 occasions prior to the 100 metres, a number of which were consecutive, to commence midnight 13th June up to and including midnight 4th July 2021. Absolut Artie Begun awkwardly. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding trainer R Vale expressed he was disappointed with the run as he was expecting a prominent performance. He added he was expecting ABSOLUTE ARTIE to lead or settle closer to the tearaway leader but after being slower away than usual this had not suited its usual racing pattern. Mr Vale stated ABSOLUT ARTIE had worked well in the lead up to the race, had pulled up well following the event and he was intending to have bloods taking in the coming days and he would advise the Stewards of the results.
