Syamantaka Mani Had to be resaddled behind the barriers. Trainer M. Leitch was questioned regarding the horse’s improved performance. She stated that after a long spell the gelding performed well at its first-up effort at Ipswich on 11 October, however, was disappointing at its next run but she believed fitness may have helped improve the gelding today. Arterial Trainer K. Schweida advised that it would be the intention to have the horse ridden in the second half of the field. The horse was ridden accordingly. Bumped by another runner near the 200m when attempting a run between INTERVENTIONS and WAS AGONA. No Shenanigans Fractious in the barriers. Shifted in shortly after the start, bumping another runner, and then raced three wide without cover throughout the event. Hung out rounding the home turn. Ipswich 09/11/2017
Elvison Near the 200m was taken in and was obliged to check from the heels of JACARANDA PRINCE, which shifted in abruptly. Stewards inquired into this incident, and after taking evidence from apprentice S. Lacy, rider of ELVISION and jockey D. Browne, rider of JACARANDA PRINCE, were satisfied that at this point of the race JACARANDA PRINCE shifted in abruptly when struck with the whip. Stewards accepted that jockey Browne had attempted to straighten his mount in a reasonable time. Stewards advised the connections of JACARANDA PRINCE that a warning would be placed on the racing manners of the horse. Sunshine Coast 07/11/2017
