Race 3
Irvine As the horse had not raced for more than 12 months, it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly and was bumped on jumping. Ipswich 15/12/2017
Real Machine Reared on jumping away. Overraced for a short distance passing the 800m. Sunshine Coast 15/12/2017
Red Mahogany Vetted - Bled both nostrils. 3 month ban & 1000m gallop. Doomben 12/07/2017
Clown in the Moon Became fractious and flipped over the in the enclosure, dislodging its rider. The horse was subsequently examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start. Hung out rounding the home turn. Warwick 26/12/2017
Foxy Miss When asked to comment on the horses performance, B. Stewart indicated that in his opinion, as this was the mares first start over 1600m, it did not run out the distance and was disappointing under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Trainer C. Munce advised that the mare would now be sent for a spell. Sunshine Coast 03/09/2017

Rock Garden Hung out badly after passing the 700m and ran to the outside fence, where the horse raced for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer D. Forster was advised that the horse will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official trial before being permitted to race again. Ipswich 04/04/2017

Bauhinia Storm A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the horse had heat stress. Sunshine Coast 24/12/2017
Constant Flight A post-race vet exam rev the colt to be suffering from cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer advised the colt would be required to barrier and requires a vet cert including results of an ECG prior to racing again Lismore 15/08/2017
Drover's Yarn After being caught racing wide in the early stages the colt was allowed to improve forward to obtain a position on off near the 1100m. Ipswich 30/08/2017
Heart of Toorak Approaching 1000m steadied from heels of ELLERSLEY and again near 900m steadied from heels of GRANVILLE ISLAND. Laid in under pressure over concluding stages. Gold Coast 19/08/2017
Joel Shifted out after passing the 400m when attempting to secure clear running, made contact with another runner and became unbalanced and remained held up until approaching the 250m. Sunshine Coast 12/11/2017
Little John An examination of the horse by the attending yard Steward revealed the horse to have an abrasion on the outside of its nostril. A pre-race veterinary examination conducted on the horse confirmed the findings of the yard Steward, and also confirmed that there was no blood present in either of the horse’s nostrils. A secondary post-race veterinary examination again failed to reveal any blood present in either of the horse’s nostrils. Stood flat-footed at the start, and then failed to muster speed and lost valuable ground. Raced greenly throughout the event. Toowoomba 16/12/2017

Bexstar Slow to begin. Then overraced in the early stages before being permitted to stride forward to a position outside the lead. Jockey M. Hellyer reported it had not been his intention to race in such a forward position. Sunshine Coast 07/11/2017

Namib B. Pengelly reported that he was disappointed with the horse’s performance. He said the horse offered very little in the home straight and weakened. Trainer B. Lockwood confirmed that the horse would be sent for a spell and reported that the horse had cast the near hind plate in running. Sunshine Coast 04/06/2017
Aberlady Hung out rounding the home turn and proved difficult to ride. Trainer D. Duryea was advised that a warning would be placed against the mare’s racing manners. Ipswich 22/12/2017
