King Ragnar Slow to begin. When asked to comment on the disappointing performance, jockey M. Cahill confirmed his disappointment and could offer no tangible explanation. A post race veterinary examination of the horse, which finished a distant last, failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer R. Wilson advised stewards in his opinion the horse was beaten for early speed and would appreciate a step up in distance to 1200m and would take improvement from the run. The Wild One Jumped outwards extremely awkwardly and in so doing shifted out, making contact with VALADYIUM. Became unbalanced when racing keenly near the 900m after making contact with MISHANI BLOSSOM, which was bumped outwards by EMBATTLED. Bumped and carried outwards by OH FIVE GLORY near the 300m. Outpatient Shifted in away from another runner near the 1100m and made contact with the running rail. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be suffering from heat stress. Sunshine Coast 24/03/2019
Brahma Armour Connections advised that, due to the pattern of racing today, the gelding would be ridden further forward if circumstances permit. The horse settled in a handy position. Got its head up when racing keenly passing the 800m. Shifted out near the 100m, making contact with LUCKY FIX. Doomben 03/04/2019

Iron Duke Slow to begin. Shifted wider on the track after overracing in the early stages in an attempt to improve to the lead after passing the 1200m, however the horse was obliged to race three wide without cover throughout the event. Sunshine Coast 31/03/2019
Second Thought Began awkwardly and lost considerable ground. Laid in under pressure over the final 200m. Ipswich 29/03/2019

Clairvue Diamond Trainer S. Kendrick was questioned regarding the improved performance of the horse in winning tonight. He indicated the gelding races best when able to lead without being challenged, as was the case in this event. Stewards after perusing the horse’s last win accepted the explanation. Shelter Lady Apprentice S. Lacy reported she had some difficulty securing clear running rounding the home turn. Sunshine Coast 17/02/2019

Publishing Power Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. Raced in restricted room near the 850m. Shifted out to avoid heels near the 700m and then raced in restricted room until approaching the 500m. Sunshine Coast 05/04/2019
Bon Rocket When asked to comment on the performance, trainer M. Lakey noted that the gelding had previously performed poorly when asked to carry a similar weight to that carried today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Beaudesert 01/01/2019

Barefoot Tycoon Although the horse was advertised as racing with pacifiers on as a gear change, the gelding raced only in blinkers as trainer D. Fletcher did not have a set of blinkers and pacifiers. Rationale When quest re perf. rdr stated his mount was buffeted on jumping & settled at tail of field. Rdr stated pace of event was moderate in early & middle stages & from rear posn he worked into event from 600m in effort to make ground on leaders. Rdr stated mount had full clear running on straightening however failed to sprint strongly under pressure & was disapp in run to the line. Rdr stated mount raced like a tired horse.
