Underwent a post race veterinary examination which revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer T. Edmonds was advised that in view of the gelding’s disappointing performance it would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to its return to the race.

When questioned in relation to the improved performance, Trainer K Kemp explained that mare drew an ideal barrier today and had no luck in its recent starts. He added that in his opinion the mare was better suited to the class of today’s event and therefore he was not surprised with the mares forward showing.
