Orman explained that he was unable to improve into the race rounding the home turn and when able to alter course in the early part of the straight the mare finished off well. He added that OOZES CLASS will be better suited over a further distance than today’s race.

When questioned regarding the performance of the mare, jockey stated that he had been instructed to settle in a position towards the rear of the field to allow the mare to work into the event and finish off strongly. Further stated that his mount travelled comfortably in the early and middle stages however in the straight was only fair when pressured to improve. Further stated that approaching the 100m his mount was steadied when disappointed for a run however was not finishing off as strongly as he had expected and was only fair in its run to the line.

Mackinnon advised stewards that upon the arrival of the horse back at his stables it was exhibiting clinical signs of thumps, and he advised stewards he would have his veterinary surgeon examine the horse in the coming days and would report to stewards the result of such examination.
