When asked to comment on the below market performance rider B Thompson stated the colt failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure and was one paced throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Became fractious in the tie-up stalls prior to racing and was examined by the vet before being cleared to start. Began awkwardly. Post race vet examination revealed the horse to being making an abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer M Currie was advised that a veterinary certificate with the results of an endoscopic examination would be required prior to next start.

Cast a hind plate in the stall area pre-race and as the plate was unable to be refitted, Stewards ordered the removal of both hind plates and granted permission for the gelding to race bare foot behind. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination at the start and was passed suitable to start. Beaten $1.40 favourite; rider R Maloney stated in his opinion the gelding may have come to the end of its preparation. Trainer D Vandyke advised Stewards the gelding would now be spelled. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities and a post-race swab sample was taken for analysis.

A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery and signs of mild heat stress.
