When questioned regarding the performance, rider stated that, after being crowded on jumping, mount was obliged to settle towards the rear of the field, where it travelled well. Said, however, that when he placed his mount under pressure from the 500m it felt uncomfortable in its action and failed to respond to his riding. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer advised would now be spelled.
