Approaching the 150m was momentarily inconvenienced by CAVELLTON which improved into a run to the mares outside. When questioned regarding the performance of BOLD EOS, Jockey R Wiggins could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance but added when placed under pressure his mount weakened noticeably and ran to the line in a disappointing manner. A post race veterinary examination revealed a poor post race recovery.
