The Stewards intend to enquire in relation to this incident due to Mr Potgieter having left the course to catch a scheduled flight. TUNERO was treated on course post-race after showing signs of lameness with a veterinary clearance required prior to the gelding resuming racing.

Co-trainer was told that the gelding which hung in badly despite the efforts of its rider during the race and caused interference to a number of runners between the 900m and the 750m, would be required to barrier trial to the Steward’s satisfaction prior to being permitted to race. Trainer advised that consideration would now be given to the gelding being transferred from his stable.
