Jockey Morrison stated that Anselmo had been freshened up for the race and was dropping back in distance from the geldings previous 1400 metres start to 1200 metres in this event. In the opinion of Jockey L Morrison, Anselmo is best suited over 1400 metres, or 1600 metres.
