Trainer D Amos was questioned regarding the improved performance of the mare in winning todays event in comparison to the previous start in Mackay on 6 January 2022 when finishing in 12th position. Trainer D Amos advised that Cat In The Raine has won previously on both soft and heavy rated tracks and was better suited by todays track condition. He stated that at the mare’s previous start she had been hampered in running mid race and had got back in the field. He advised the mare performs best when ridden just off the pace and he had instructed todays rider, Jockey N Thomas, to ride accordingly
