Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages. When questioned as to the seemingly improved performance, trainer B. Mahon stated that the gelding lacked race fitness when first up from a spell 2 starts ago. Mr Mahon added that at its last start at Gympie the gelding was not suited when obliged to race back in the field on the sand track. Mr Mahon was therefore of the opinion that the gelding was well suited today, third up from a spell and able to settle on the speed.
