Matale A post-race veterinary examination of MATALE identified the presence of blood in both nostrils. Under the provisions of AR79(4) MATALE shall not, without the permission of the Stewards : (a) be trained, exercised, or galloped on any racecourse for a period of two months; (b) start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after a satisfactory gallop of at least 1,000 metres in the presence of a Steward. Race 3
Data Jockey stated that his mount had been slow to begin when he rode it at its most recent barrier trial. Jockey stated that his mount began better during today’s event however was still slow to begin. Jockey stated that after being slow to begin he checked his mount when buffeted heavily between runners. Jockey stated that his mount then travelled fairly at the rear of the field however when pressured to improve, hung out rounding the home turn. Jockey stated that during the straight mount was fair in run to line however was one paced and failed to quicken noticeably. Grafton 04/09/2021
