When questioned regarding the poor performance, jockey N Day stated that his mount failed to travel throughout the event and when placed under pressure failed to respond to his riding in the straight. He further added that RAIDEN struggled under the topweight today and felt that the gelding may have come to the end of its preparation. Trainers representative J Doolan undertook to report back to the stewards on the condition of RAIDEN in the days subsequent. Trainer since reported reported that RAIDEN had pulled up well following its performance and would press on with its campaign.
