Stakeholder Engagement

Racing Queensland values the significant contributions made by participants across the three codes of racing.

As an organisation, RQ is committed to undertaking meaningful consultation and engagement with a range of industry stakeholders – including race clubs, key stakeholder groups, individual participants/licencees, industry partners, punters and other interested parties – enabling it to canvas industry and gauge views on important industry matters.

To facilitate this, RQ undertakes multiple targeted stakeholder engagement meetings/sessions throughout the year. These meetings/sessions provide an opportunity for RQ to update on current industry performance/trends and key issues for the year ahead, and stakeholders the opportunity to raise any matters of significance from their perspective.

In addition, the RQ Board has a formally established thoroughbred Country Racing Panel to assist with the development of proposals and strategies designed to foster and develop country thoroughbred racing in Queensland. The Country Racing Panel is comprised of the RQ Board Thoroughbred Code Director (as Chair of the Panel) and the chairperson of each of the eight Queensland Country Racing Associations.
