RACE ONE

SPRINGFIELD DESIRE (4)
was a debut winner from the pocket trail from gate 3 and then using the passing lane to score. His run behind the smart filly MISS MONEYBAGS from gate 6 had merit and then was beaten by the gate in the Paleface Adios. With the race experience he can take this.

SEA HAWKE (1) will take great benefit from his debut when working hard in the run after being sent forward from gate 5. Fighting hard to the line the run was full of merit. With the improved gate he can look to build off that.

GIVE ME A GO (3) made his debut when beaten 12m behind THAT’S BETTOR. He eased back early to find position and held his ground in the run to the wire. He can settle closer here and is right in the mix.

SELECTIONS: SPRINGFIELD DESIRE (4), SEA HAWKE (1), GIVE ME A GO (3)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE TWO

FIRE UP FRANCO (7) will be further tightened from his latest run which was his 2nd run back from a break and just 3rd run since May 2017. Last start he was hitting the line strongly from well back in the pack over the 2138m trip. Forget his 1st up run when making an error, this appeals.

PUNTERS DELIGHT (5) has been freshened since last seen when fading out in the run at Redcliffe. A winner on the triangle 4 starts back when leading throughout off gate 1 he was finding the line strongly at his next start when off the 2nd line. In a tricky contest he can feature.

ARTIKULATE MISS (6) With even luck in transit, this is well within reach.

MISTER FANTANGLES (1) starts back he found the line nicely in a similar type race when 2nd to GOVINNI and last start was only 2m from the winner. The gate helps.

SELECTIONS: FIRE UP FRANCO (7), PUNTERS DELIGHT (5), ARTIKULATE MISS (6), MISTER FANTANGLES (1)
SUGGESTED BET: FIRE UP FRANCO (7)

RACE THREE

SPIRIT WALKER (2) has been runner-up at each of her past 4 starts, the latest when getting within a head of the very smart NEEDLE. Stepping straight to the front 2 starts back she was gripping on but couldn’t hold off the challenge of SCORCHED. She can step here and will be hard to stop.

QUIETLY SPOKEN (4) will appreciate being 10m closer to SPIRIT WALKER from their last meeting when beaten 10m. Her win from the mobile 3 starts back was a classy effort when going to the front and keeping the tempo on all the way to a slick mile win. She is in this.

SPRINGBANK EDEN (7) looks well placed here from the 20m tape following his last start 2nd. With the right run he can give this a shake.

MAYBETOTHEMAX (8) if he brings his manners he can be right in the thick of the action

SELECTIONS: SPIRIT WALKER (2), QUIETLY SPOKEN (4), SPRINGBANK EDEN (7), MAYBETOTHEMAX (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

GET IN THE GROOVE (2)
lands her best gate in some time and finds a field likely even a shade easier than what she has been meeting. On Sat night from the 2nd line she was too strong to win a mares qualifier when racing wide. She looks to have their measure here and can go back-to-back.

MR MEDDLE (8) will need a slice of luck from this gate but does have the option to be away form the pegs early as the lone back-rower. He looked to take them all the way last start over the 2138m trip and was only grabbed late by the swooping JOSSIE JAMES.

PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (3) attacked the line strongly 4 starts back when 2nd to FIRE AND ICE in a qualifier and from an improved gate is some chance.

MONIVAE (4) can feature again in this.

SELECTIONS: GET IN THE GROOVE (2), MR MEDDLE (8), PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (3), MONIVAE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: GET IN THE GROOVE (2) to win

RACE FIVE

GINA MACH (1) struggled to see space when needed last start in a Gold Pot heat and in a good last 800m split didn’t get out in time to qualify for the final. Her form has been good from tough gates and landing the ace gate for the 1st time in her career gets the options and looks hard to stop.

MAJOR GENERALJUJON (5) had been building towards a win and with the advantage of gate 1 last time out at Redcliffe went straight to the front and wsa a comfortable 15m winner. Both his past 2 starts here at AP have been solid when 3rd in each and he is in the mix again.

PHOTOZEN (8) will get a cosy trip here and can look to issue a closing challenge when the gaps open. He is knocking on the door.

TUESDAYS FELLA (7) is an exotic player from the wide gate.

SELECTIONS: GINA MACH (1), MAJOR GENERALJUJON (5), PHOTOZEN (8), TUESDAYS FELLA (7)
SUGGESTED BET: GINA MACH (1) to win

RACE SIX

INCITER (4)
will strip fitter from his latest start when resuming from a break. Finding running line position from gate 5 he was hitting the line in good style to finish 2m from the winner NOVENA ROSE. Not seen at the trials for his return he gets a chance in an open contest.

SUBTLE ADVICE (8) found his race last time out here on Friday and was able to lead all the way from gate 1 to end a long run of outs. He had been building toward the win after some tidy efforts from wide gates. With a slice of luck from this gate he can feature.

MISS POSITIVITY (3) Her past 3 starts have been from wide gates and not looked entirely comfortable at the triangle and the bigger track and better gate can see improvement.

PROFICIENT (7) despite the wide gate can issue a challenge in this line-up.

SELECTIONS: INCITER (4), SUBTLE ADVICE (8), MISS POSITIVITY (3), PROFICIENT (7)
SUGGESTED BET: INCITER (4) to win

RACE SEVEN

SUBTLE DELIGHT (12) is having a luckless run with the barriers and comes up with another stinger. His run last week from gate 7 was strong when he was 3-wide for a long way of the 2138m trip and was still fighting to the line when 8m in arrears of JOSSIE JAMES. With some front-line tempo he can finish over the top.

OASIS DREAM (1) put in a good effort last week when 3 -wide the trip, giving the trail to the winner ROCK WITH SAM and still fighting strongly at the line to claim the silver only 7m from the winner. With the options from the gate he is a big threat here.

HARD TO HEAR (2) has been top 3 in his past 5 in succession, the last 4 all from the 2nd line, he is right in this.

BUCKHORN EXCHANGE (6) Starting fav in an Aspirational on Sat night he was nabbed on the line when beaten a half-neck. He can go close again.

SELECTIONS: SUBTLE DELIGHT (12), OASIS DREAM (1), HARD TO HEAR (2), BUCKHORN EXCHANGE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 1-2-6-12

RACE EIGHT

JOYS A BABE (3)
has been running well from tough gates in open class events and despite her efforts is not getting the rewards. She found the line strongly 2 starts back to be 3m from the winner AMJORJO and with her best gate in some time can be 1st to the pegs and look to dictate terms.

MATTGREGOR (11) returned from a spell last time out and from gate 4 went to the front and was never in danger to make it 4 wins in succession. With big targets this campaign he faces a tough gate this time around but his class cannot be denied.

AVONNOVA (10) resumes for another preparation with the $1m stakes barrier in sight. He can look to trail into this and will be thereabouts.

JACKAROO BROMAC (5) Finding running line cover are key to his chances and he will be looking to swoop late.

SELECTIONS: JOYS A BABE (3), MATTGREGOR (11), AVONNOVA (10), JACKAROO BROMAC (5)
SUGGESTED BET: JOYS A BABE (3) to win

RACE NINE

BANGKOK BRAVADO (2)
had been racing well without cashing in and after 3 successive placed runs where he worked hard in each occasion and was never beaten more than 3m was taken to Redcliffe for a confidence builder when putting them to the sword for a 35m victory. He can look to roll forward to take control of this.

BONNIE JUJON (1) has been around the money of late and found her race last start at Redcliffe. Sent to the breeze from gate 5 she was under pressure but dug in for the fight to hold them out on the line under heavy rain. With the options from the gate she is right in this.

ONLY ONE PROMISE (6) was aiming up for the hat-trick last start when starting fav over the 2138m trip from the 5-hole. With even luck this time around he can feature.

THE HARLEM HAMMER (10) If the speed is too strong off the front, look for her swooping late.

SELECTIONS: BANGKOK BRAVADO (2), BONNIE JUJON (1), ONLY ONE PROMISE (6), THE HARLEM HAMMER (10)
SUGGESTED BET: BANGKOK BRAVADO (2) to win
