RACE ONE

MAFUTA VAUTIN (1)
was rewarded for some consistent runs that had been getting any return when he broke through here last week. Cutting the breeze after rolling forward from the 2nd line he held them off to score. From the gate he should gain the perfect trail and be ready to strike in the stretch.

MONTANA FALCON (2) looked to lead throughout off gate 4 in claiming company 3 starts back and was only grabbed up the passing lane. Buried away at his next start, last week the effort was good when doing some early work. He can fire out and look to dictate here and will be gripping on.

POLISHED ROCKS (4) has been around the money in recent starts and with the benefit of a cosy run along the pegs arrived for the prize 2 starts back. Only 2m from MACH ALERT last start he can roll forward here and will be in the mix.

COME CULLECT (8) will shoot for the hat-trick after successive wins over the mile at her 2 runs here this visit. The latest win made it 4 AP wins in 5 outings when charging late after being buried away from this same gate. A repeat of that run will see her go close again.

SELECTIONS: MAFUTA VAUTIN (1), MONTANA FALCON (2), POLISHED ROCKS (4), COME CULLECT (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MAFUTA VAUTIN (1) to win

RACE TWO

FRANKIE ROCKS (12) was luckless 4 starts back from inside the 2nd line and was strung up in traffic at his next start. An error at the start put him out of contention 2 starts back and last week in FFA company it was an impossible task when the leader got home in sub 55. This looks within reach.

BELLS BEACH HOUSE (2) has worked his way back into some better form following 4 runs back from a spell. Gaining the pocket trail last week he was stuck behind a tiring leader and went off-stride and lost chance but regathered well to claim the bronze. He can fire the first shot here and feature.

FLAMING HERO (3) returns from a spell and was last seen when leading all the way over the 2138m trip back in October. Without a public trial to sharpen, he may need the run but at his best would have claims.

GANGSTER BOY (8) is in great touch at present but doesn’t get the best gate here. Top 2 in 6 of his past 8 starts, he served it up to the leader last start and fought hard all the way to get within a half-head of victory. Just needs some luck.

SELECTIONS: FRANKIE ROCKS (12), BELLS BEACH HOUSE (2), FLAMING HERO (3), GANGSTER BOY (8)
SUGGESTED BET: FRANKIE ROCKS (12) to win

RACE THREE

RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (3) has claimed the bronze at his past 2 starts in these type of races, the most recent when charging home from back in the pack over the 2138m trip. Starting fav 2 starts back he looked to have found his race but was gunned down late. He can look for the pegs and take this.

OCEANS PREDATOR (1) returned from a freshen last week in a 2nd division qualifier and after being buried away along the pegs was charging late to arrive in time for the prize. From the gate he can take the trail and look to finish best when the gaps arrive.

SAM A CHAMP (5) will be tightened from 2 runs back from a spell. The latest of those was victory at Redcliffe when finishing best off a 2nd line gate. In good touch prior to his break, he will be in the mix here.

WITH AUTHORITY (10) was a good 2nd behind the in-form STATEMENT MADE 3 starts back and then was working hard wide out at his next run. A tough run from the breeze last week, he will be looking for some front line pressure and be charging late.

SELECTIONS: RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (3), OCEANS PREDATOR (1), SAM A CHAMP (5), WITH AUTHORITY (10)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 1-3-5-10

RACE FOUR

LUCIFERS LEGEND (12)
has the tough gate to overcome here but there looks to be some good front line pressure which will help his cause. He found the line strongly against the tempo 3 starts back and franked that with an all the way win next start. He led everywhere bar the post last start and will be charging home.

THE PACMAN (1) has been alternating between the claimers and these type of races and last week from an inside 2nd line gate was making good closing ground when 5m from IMA GRUMPY POSSUM. A passing lane winner 3 starts back he should get the perfect trail here and be ready to strike.

THE SHADY ONE (8) was returning off a freshen here on Tuesday when he put in a solid performance over the 2138m. Setting the tempo out in front it was a good return and while he will need some luck from this gate, he does have a sizzling sprint when saved for one shot.

CHARMS ON A ROLL (2) was luckless last time out in a mares only event when unable to find track after starting from the 2nd line. Grabbed in the closing stages by GEORGIA GRACE 2 starts back she can look to make her own luck out in front here.

SELECTIONS: LUCIFERS LEGEND (12), THE PACMAN (1), THE SHADY ONE (8), CHARMS ON A ROLL (2)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-8-12

RACE FIVE

ANOTHER BROADWAY (8) attacked the leader mid-race in a mid-week conditioned race over the 2138m here 3 starts back and then followed that with a Sat night run again over the 2138m which is not his distance. Back to the mile here on Tues he rolled forward and was too strong to take the prize. He will need the gaps but will be ready to strike.

DON BOSTON (1) gets his best chance to breakthrough for NSW trainer Brad Abbott after 4 runs this visit have been fruitless. 2 of those have been off the 2nd line which don’t suit and from the ace gate he gets the chance to roll along in front and dictate. He will be gripping on and if he doesn’t cop too much heat can squeeze this out.

COLD IDEAL (11) was a long way back in the pack here on Tues when trying to make late ground in strong fractions being set at the front. He hasn’t had a lot of luck with barriers in recent starts and with even luck in transit has some hope here.

BATTLE BORN (6) was 1st up off a 6 week break when he run into MATTGREGOR in a mid-week outing and the effort was good when not beaten far in 1.52.8 mile set by the winner. Finding early position he will be working home late.

SELECTIONS: ANOTHER BROADWAY (8), DON BOSTON (1), COLD IDEAL (11), BATTLE BORN (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

OUR QUINN (1)
has started twice in Qld this campaign for visiting trainer KerryAnn Turner and has yet to get a return. Put a line through his latest start when making an error and his 1st up run was full of merit when working hard throughout. He will need to hustle early but once in control can dictate.

RIVERLEIGH JEFF (10) worked home strongly to win a similar type race here 4 starts back off this same gate. Since that win he was off the 2nd line behind MARETTI when too far back and his past 2 starts have been in the Marburg Goldstrike where his consolation run was solid off 50m. This suits.

WASTE OF TIME (3) has been better his past few and last time out at Redcliffe was charging home late to grab the silver. Only 6m from the winner here 4 starts back he can settle handy and has hopes in this line-up.

PROFICIENT (2) resumes off a freshen and has been in the money at his past 2 starts. Last time out from gate 7 he just kept grinding away and with a tidy trial to prepare for his return has place claims.

SELECTIONS: OUR QUINN (1), RIVERLEIGH JEFF (10), WASTE OF TIME (3), PROFICIENT (2)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR QUINN (1) to win

RACE SEVEN

MY AJAYE (1) found a nice race here 5 starts back and rolled forward from gate 6 to take up the running and once in control held off the challenge. That broke a long winless streak and he backed it up 2 starts later when pressing his way to the front and dictating over this trip. He gets his chance in an open contest.

BUCKHORN EXCHANGE (10) used the passing lane to finish as the runner-up in consecutive runs behind SOMEPARTYSOMEWHERE each time. 2 starts back after a good run in transit he descended late to grab a good win and then last start had no luck. He is right in this.

ASHLEYS ANGEL (3) had been running good races without getting any reward when working home strongly. Last start with the pocket trail from gate 1 she used the passing lane to score and get a return for her consistency. She is in the mix.

JACKS AT THE BEACH (8) is not as effective over the 2138m and has not seen the inside in a long time which is always a concern with this guy. If he gets it right he will get a soft trip and has claims.

SELECTIONS: MY AJAYE (1), BUCKHORN EXCHANGE (10), ASHLEYS ANGEL (3), JACKS AT THE BEACH (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

JUSTATIC (2)
has had 3 runs back from a break and should be tightened right up and ready to display his best. He didn’t get the cleanest passage last start in a stronger race behind BOBBIES GIRL and the run was solid 2 starts back when facing the breeze and beaten 6m. He can take his shot early.

HANDSOME MAJOR (1) was a Redcliffe winner 3 starts back when rolling forward before taking running line cover and finishing best to score. Too far back at his next start his latest run saw the leader rip home in sharp time making it hard for the chasers. With a cosy trip he can strike.

BRONZE ECSTASY (3) arrived from the rear of the pack to score at Redcliffe 4 starts back and then was 7m from BETTOR BE LUCKY next start. He can settle closer from this gate and be charging.

HE GETS IT (9) found his race last start when rolling forward from the 2nd line to find the breeze and held on over the 2138m trip. That broke a long run of outs and with the confidence is in the mix here.

SELECTIONS: JUSTATIC (2), HANDSOME MAJOR (1), BRONZE ECSTASY (3), HE GETS IT (9)
SUGGESTED BET: JUSTATIC (2) to win

RACE NINE

GET IN THE GROOVE (9)
has the 2nd line to overcome but she is the class runner in this line-up. Last week she settled in the running line off gate 10 and the tempo from the front meant nothing was running on from the back. Luckless at her 2 runs prior to that, she gets every chance here.

ANNAS BEST (1) dropped to the pegs last start and with the cosy trip was able to rail through to grab the bronze behind IOWNATURBO. An all the way winner at Redcliffe 5 starts back she has the speed to hold them out here and will be gripping on in the stretch.

MISS CATALINA (8) should appreciate the trip from this gate and will be poised and ready to strike when the gaps open. Her run off 30m in the Goldstrike consolation at Marburg was good and she has trifecta aspirations.

GRINVIL (5) completed a hat-trick of victories when winning 1st up in Qld taking out a Goldstrike heat. Too far back off the 40m tape in the final, she can settle handy here and be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: GET IN THE GROOVE (9), ANNAS BEST (1), MISS CATALINA (8), GRINVIL (5)
SUGGESTED BET: GET IN THE GROOVE (9) to win

RACE TEN

MAYBETOTHEMAX (6)
made an error at the start last week from the mobile off gate 2 yet was able to reset and then was charging home late to get within 1m of the winner OUR OVERANOVA. A safe beginner from the tapes, a great recent record and well placed off 10m all point towards him.

FOURSHARESMOREBEERS (7) found the front off gate 4 last week from the mobile and then released and was hitting the line fairly to be 3.5m from the winner. He will be weaving a path off the 20m and is in the mix.

LAVROS SEGIL (1) should appreciate the front line after chasing off handicaps in easier events in recent starts. The key to his chances is stepping and if he gets away cleanly can feature in this.

LIAVA (2) has been performing well in these type of races and has placed in 4 of her past 5 starts. Buried away on the pegs here mid-week off a 20m tape, she can settle handy and has place hopes.

SELECTIONS: MAYBETOTHEMAX (6), FOURSHARESMOREBEERS (7), LAVROS SEGIL (1), LIAVA (2)
SUGGESTED BET: MAYBETOTHEMAX (6) to win
