Racing Queensland has released its 2018/19 Race Date Calendars for the greyhound, harness and thoroughbred codes.

Acting CEO Simon Stout said Racing Queensland compiled the calendar in conjunction with industry stakeholders and Queensland’s 132 clubs.

See the 2018/19 calendar for each of the three codes here.

“The calendar aims to provide a platform for further wagering growth and therefore, increased returns to the industry. I would like to thank all stakeholders and clubs across the state for their input and cooperation in developing the new calendar,” Mr Stout said.

In total, the 2018/19 racing calendar includes 1186 TAB and 392 non-TAB race meetings across the thoroughbred, harness and greyhound codes. In total, an additional 9 TAB meetings have been scheduled, including 5 for the thoroughbred code and 4 for the harness code.

“In line with Racing Queensland’s strategy to convert non-TAB to TAB meetings where possible, the Marburg Pacing Association has been awarded four TAB meetings in the 2018/19 calendar,” Mr Stout said.

Mr Stout said the Eagle Farm track will be eased back into racing once remediation works are complete and the track has been rigorously tested and identified as fit for purpose.

“Remediation works are due to be completed in April, with racing to return only once RQ and industry stakeholders are confident that the surface is befitting of Queensland’s premier track.”

Following the success of the 2017 UBET Greyhound Nationals at Albion Park, Racing Queensland has scheduled a new Origin Greyhound Series for July. More details will become available shortly.
