The popular ‘Cut to the Chase’ and ‘Around the Grounds’ racing programs have returned on Racing Queensland social media platform ‘Puntersland’ ahead of the 2018 Queensland Winter Racing Carnival.

Winter will also see the show making its first venture into all three codes with the introduction of a harness and greyhound program in time for the feature Group 1 meetings.

From this weekend, former Victorian jockey Sam Hyland and UBET’s Nicole Thomas will give punters nationwide important information they need to bet with confidence on Audi Centre Toowoomba Weetwood Day.

This season Sam and Nicole will offer their thoughts on the key runners in the feature races, the track condition, and provide the latest market updates and movers from UBET, all from a new-look state-of-the-art studio.

Hyland rode almost 700 winners throughout his career for prize money in excess of $9 million. He then went on to provide mounting yard and horseback coverage of Victorian meetings for Racing.com.

He said the looked forward to continuing to showcase Queensland racing to new audiences during the state’s peak racing season.

“While Melbourne has the spring and Sydney owns the autumn, the best racing across Australia during winter, undoubtedly, belongs to Queensland. I am looking forward to being able to share the story of the history-rich winter carnival to even more punters during 2018,” he said.

While the show proved popular with Queenslanders during summer, it also helped drive interest and wagering growth from punters in southern states.

The show aims to showcase Queensland’s exciting racing product nationwide, and was particularly enjoyed by audiences in New South Wales and Victoria during the summer.

Cut to the Chase and Around the Grounds return to Puntersland this weekend for the Audi Centre Weetwood Day at Toowoomba, before a short break to warm up again when Group racing resumes at Doomben on April 28.

The harness and greyhound versions of Cut to the Chase will be broadcast ahead of each code’s Group 1 meetings throughout the carnival.
